Installation is as simple as setting the specially patented round-point setscrews into the clamp, placing the clamp on the seam, and tightening them to the specified tension. Adhesive polycarbonate (plastic) type snow retention was initially used on this barrel type roof.
Design and supply a snow retention system for the new International Ice Rink roof at the Markin MacPhail Athletic and Ice Complex in Calgary.
Design, supply and provided stamped engineered drawings for a 2 bar system. Prepare and powder coat over 1000 clamps, 500 brackets and 136 ten foot pipes to match original roof colour.
Original specified 2 bar snow guard system was no longer available from the manufacturer. Provide a similar or better snow guard system on within budget constraints

A snow guard system mitigates the risk of sudden and unexpected release of snow from the roof, which can lead to damaged roof panels, gutters, light fixtures, walls and foundations, protection of lower roofs or worse, severe injury to people. The idea is to evacuate the snow in a predictable and controlled fashion, as opposed to a sudden release. It may be hard to imagine that an accumulation of those pretty little snowflakes can have enough force to do serious damage to property and person, but that is the reality.
OUR SNOW RETENTION PRODUCTS
Used on over 1.6 million roofs worldwide, Sky Products uses S-5!® clamps to attach snow retention and solar systems to the panel seam. The clamps attach to the seam by the tightening of two “bullet –nosed” stainless steel setscrews against the seam material. The round point setscrews compress the seam material against the opposite wall of the clamp. They will “dimple” the seam material, but will not penetrate it.
S-5!® clamps are made from 6061-T6 aluminum extrusions conforming to ASTM B221 or aluminum castings conforming to ASTM B85 and to AA Aluminum Standards.
The setscrews are made from 300 series stainless steel, 18-8 alloy.
